My favorite technology of 2005

OK, I know it certainly wasn’t invented in 2005, but my favorite technology that I really started to use this year is audio/video by flash.
I started using audio, and then experimented with video. The video that is working best for me is the kind where I explain something on the computer to people. Here’s an example that only took me a few mintes to do and dramatically reduced my email support on this topic.

It’s for a service called namestick, and a lot of people didn’t understand what it was for and how it worked.

Since then I have invested in a high quality mic and USB preamp that produces studio-quality sound. It’s always set up on my desk, ready to go.

My latest niche project makes heavy use of flash audio and video to deliver advanced online training. It’s not launched yet so I’ll keep quiet about it for now.

If you haven’t started using flash audio and video yet, make some plans to investigate it in 2006.
