Use Google Analytics
I love to test things on my web sites. Why? Because I almost always learn how to make more money when I do.
Every test result, whether positive or negative, teaches me.
In the past I have used many different forms of testing and tracking software. And paid lots of money for it. Funny thing is, I never regretted any of that investment because the test results always paid for any tool I was using.
Until now.
That’s because the tool I am using now is free. It’s called Google Analytics, and it analyzes your web site traffic and conversions to help you make more money.
Built into the analytics is an additional, and slightly more advanced tool called Optimizer. The optimizer tool lets me test multiple factors on the same web page at the same time. (This is known as multivariate testing)
So for example, I can test three headlines, two subheadlines and whether to use a video or not, all at the same time. The Google software keeps track of which version of the sales letter it is showing to which visitor, and which visitor buys from the specific version of the page they are shown.
I am getting some fantastic results with the things I am testing. I almost doubled my opt-in rate on the first form I tested.
On a sales page, the Google Optimizer looks to be improving my conversions by almost a full percentage point. That’s a lot of extra money in my pocket.
It’s not hard to use. Google spent a lot of time making the instructions clear. They even have a built in test to make sure you set up your page correctly.
You do need to know how to edit your html page, or have a webmaster do it for you.
http://analytics.google.com is the web site where you can sign up. If you already have a Google AdWords account, you can use that.
I urge you to at least try a simple test of an opt-in form. Testing opt-in forms is great because you get results so much faster than testing a sales page. So start with something that will give you some quick success.
I highly recommend using this free tool on your sites.
